  Several reasons below indicates what lead to the failure of Michael Williams’ business.  The site is one of the main results.  This music store is situated at the Fairfax Apartment Building, which is on a small side street just outside of town.  Therefore, people can hardly find the correct direction about this store.

  It is 3 miles away from a shopping center that has two large music stores standing there as well.  That is, the wrong position brings about the loss of Michael Williams’ store in the intense competition among these music stores.

  CDs’ categories are also too few and narrow.  According to the survey in this region, the majority of residents of the Fairfax approximately aged from 51 to 60.  Most of the CDs in Michael Williams’ shop, however, are hip-hop and rock, which may be teenagers' favorite.  As a consequence, that’s why this store doesn’t successfully attract extensive consumers.

  In addition, the open time is short and inappropriate.  Based on another investigation, the time that fewest numbers of people walking past the store is from 12 to 6 P.M, form Monday to Friday.  Because the shop was open Monday to Friday from 1 to 5 P.M, during which hardly any passersby will past it, it sells not very well.

  The last account is that Mr. Williams won’t accept checks or credit cards. It is also an effect on the store’s being out of business.  Due to these above, we can learn why Michael Williams has a failed business.

There are more and more nuclear power plants built around the world.  However, since the explosion of nuclear power plants in Japan, it is considered whether this sort of energies will still be used to generate electricity.

Despite the fact that nuclear power is one of the most imperative sources which provide electrical energy, I think that it is better to decrease the application of nuclear power.  First of all, the water discharged from plants will cause heat pollutions, which leads to the destruction of marine ecology.  Temperature undersea is so overheated that creatures are dead.

Another reason is radiation leaks.  Because of the potential nuclear meltdowns, radiation leaks out and causes humans to get cancers and pregnant women to give birth to deformity babies.

Last but not the least, nuclear waste store will occupy the space on small islands. Many people are protesting for this issue in order to have an unpolluted and healthy environment.

It is for all the above-mentioned reasons that I believe it appropriate to forbid the nuclear power generation and I suggest finding other natural resources for electric power.

  Among four seasons in a year, it is spring that I like the most.  Below these points will delineate my favorite season.  To begin with, the weather in spring is warm and sunny; the temperature is moderate as well.  Sometimes it is comfortable when the wind blows on my face.  What is more, a variety of colorful flowers are in full bloom, the grass turns green, and trees bud new leaves.  These sights form an impressive view and overflow with vigor.  It also makes me relaxed and delighted when seeing such insects as butterflies and bees flying everywhere, being busy in extracting honey from blossomy flowers, and listening to birds singing on branches.  Finally, spring is usually defined as “a new start of a year”.  We examine what we had done in the past year and improve ourselves to have a restart in an initial stage of a year.  Above the wherefores are why I am fascinated with spring.

  Acton is a small town in the Midwest which has a population of 2,500.  It is a safe, quiet, and clean place to live.  Most of the people have lived in there all their lives and know each other very well.  The town hasn’t changed very much in the past 100 years.  However, Stanley Manufacturing decided to open a large factor in Acton last month, which will bring many immigrants to this community.  Some people are worried about the bad effects of this new factory’s construction on the small town.  Whereas others are excited about the positive impact the new factory will have.  

  In my opinion, it is improper to build a plant in this town and to induce some negative influence.  For example, though the construction brings people lots of working opportunities, it will cause pollution as well.  Smoke voided from the factory fills the sky, the emission of waste water makes the rivers’ or streams’ temperature hotter and hotter, and a large amount of garbage thrown out arbitrarily has an impact on the environment’s pollution.  Another cause is that many immigrants move here to get a job, which will disturb the peace of Acton.  Local residents may feel curious and strange about these non-native people.  In addition, though the population in Acton sharply increases because of people from other places, it will be more crowded and noisy and destroy the tradition’s balance in this small town.  For the dwellers’ consideration, I think the factory had better not be structured in Acton.

  Some people immigrate to the foreign land for further education.  They can learn not only the regional language but cultures there.  They consequently decide to move to where they want to live.

  Finally, people enjoy contacting with local residents and foreigners in the bustling and exotic country.  They can even make friends with many kinds of people around the world.  So, I think maybe that is also the main reason why people look forward to moving to another country.

  I am on the same page when it comes to that if students should wear school uniforms.  To begin with, dressed in uniforms, students can be easily recognized their identities.  The police can also track students' positions when they are wandering outside or committing errors.  Furthermore, they don’t have to worry about what sort of clothes they will wear today and tomorrow, which brings about the waste of time in choosing a variety of colorful clothes.  In addition, it reflects the good atmosphere in this school and keeps campus in order.  Students show their unanimity by wearing uniforms.  Finally, as people will be engaged in their work in the future,several large firms formulate their dress code; as a result, employees must follow their company’s regulations and put on uniforms.  Being a student, we can be familiar with the uniform's regulations in advance.  In light of all the points mentioned, one must conclude that it is appropriate to let students wear uniforms.

I'm seeking for a new English instructor for my school and I received two resumes from people applying for this job.  One of the applicants is Lynn Whitnall and the other is Debra Fines.  After perusing these resumes, perhaps I will choose Debra Fines to hire.  There are some reasons following.  First of all, compared Lynn Whitnall with Debra Fines in education, Debra is specialized in English whereas Lynn isn’t, who studies in Spanish only.  Second, Debra has over eighteen-year employment experience; however, Lynn has only fourteen years.  Consequently, Debra is more experienced than Lynn.  In addition, although Lynn has ability of the fluency in many languages, such as Spanish, French and Japanese, Debra has the superiority about this job because he is much professional in English.  Last, Lynn Whitnall doesn’t have any publication, but Debra Fines once published a book about English in 2006.  Above these wherefores are why I prefer employing Debra Fines to Lynn Whitnall.

  My friend and I are surfing the Internet to look for some information about student housing, and finally we find out two apartments suitable for us.  One is Fairfax Apartments and the other is CAMPUS APTS.  Each of them has so many qualities and preferential promotions that we have no immediate decision which one we will choose.  Therefore, we make some comparisons about the two apartments below:

  Fairfax Apartments has two large bedrooms, whereas CAMPUS APTS has only one.  The former has larger and more bedrooms than the latter.  Next, Fairfax Apartments offers air conditioners but CAMPUS APTS doesn’t.  Fairfax Apartments has house-furnished service.  On the other hand, CAMPUS APTS doesn’t provide furniture decoration.  In addition, CAMPUS APTS allows students who keep pets such as dogs and cats to live in its apartment, which is different from Fairfax Apartments.  Finally, the rental price of CAMPUS APTS is much cheaper than Fairfax Apartments.  Fairfax Apartments costs NT$1250 for rent. However, we will spend only NT$900 per month if living at CAMPUS APTS.  According to these comparisons above, perhaps we will choose Fairfax Apartments.  Although it is more expensive than CAMPUS APTS, it contains larger room space and complete facilities and it’s our ideal apartment.

  Shelly and Cherry, my two younger sisters, are one year old apart.  However, their appearances, characters and habits are similar.  First of all, they both have big eyes, long black hair, and slim figures.  Many people usually take them as twins.  Second, Cherry has the same interests as Shelly in reading, especially comic books and novels.  Shelly likes to play online games or watch cartoons on the websites, and so does Cherry.  Besides, Shelly as well as Cherry loves chatting with those who have the same common topics as they have.  They often get together and keep talking anytime and anywhere even when I am studying.  What is more, both of them are addicted to playing a trick on their youngest sister.  They regard that as a pastime.  Their characteristics are almost the same, and I usually mix up and even scarcely recognize who is Shelly and who is Cherry.
